Kentucky makes Corvette the official state sports car
In 2007 a bill was introduced to make the Chevrolet Corvette the state sports car of Kentucky. Now, after three years and almost getting turned away, it has been finalized as Governor Steve Brashear signed the bill.
Although the Corvette has such a high popularity and reputation the bill almost did not pass. With the recent troubles in the industry, the bill was almost abolished. However, as the industry is resurrecting itself, the bill was quickly brought back to the surface.
As Bowling Green, Kentucky is home of the Corvette plant, Kentuckians have long considered designating the Corvette as Kentucky's sports car as it would display the state's craftsmanship and pride. Now, it is official, the Chevrolet Corvette has become the icon of sports cars in Kentucky.

It's back! After 14 years without the Corvette Grand Sport Chevrolet has brought it back and has it looking fantastic. The new Grand Sport combines the Corvette's LS3 based power-train, with a unique wide-body styling and racing-bred suspension. The car is built in either a coupe or convertible, containing either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The LS3 6.2 liter engine has an estimated 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque with the standard exhaust system which puts down 0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds and a quarter mile in 12.6 seconds. However, there is an optional two-mode exhaust system which increases the power ratings to 436 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque which puts down 0-60 MPH in 4.0 seconds flat and a quarter mile in 12.4 seconds.

The Chevy Volt Phone App
GM and Google have recently teamed up to make science fiction become reality. With the upcoming release of the Chevy Volt, there will also be an Android phone application to go along with the release. The app will allow owners of the Chevrolet Volt to be the hippest people around. An owner will be able to unlock and lock their vehicles with the app, as well as check charges and even possibly locate their vehicle.
The app will work with OnStar and allow for users of Google's Android phones to send directions from their phones to OnStar's voice navigation feature. The idea with the new partnership and new application is to allow for communication between your car and your phone. This communication and synergy can help out in many different ways.
The first way is that there will always be a backup. If you were to lock your keys in the car or leave them, say in the office, when you ran out to grab something, then your phone can be there to help, and it is instant.
Secondly, one of the major features will be able to check the charge of your Chevy Volt. Since the car will be relying on electricity to run, it will always be helpful to know just how much battery is left. If one knows the correct amount of charge still needed, then an owner could charge the vehicle while in the office or they will know that they will have to use some gas in order to get to their next destination. Overall, the information will allow for smarter driving and better knowledge of the vehicles' condition.
One of the greatest features of the application will be the ability to locate your vehicle. One of the greatest possibilities will be able to pinpoint your vehicle within a parking lot. This will allow even better navigation to your car, but if you still wanted to find your car through a noise, then there is no need to pull out your keys, just use your phone. Further, this will allow for better theft protection. The ability to instantly track and locate one's vehicle will mean that your investment will be better protected.
Overall, the application will be able to go through many different changes and hopefully add some awesome features, but for now, you can be sure that everybody will be looking at you when you can pull out your phone and have instant access to your car.
